Vegan Temptuccino, Irish Nachos, And Take-Out-Less Noodles
Last week, I won a giveaway for a Tempt prize package over at Love Veggies and Yoga, and was excited my prize arrived so quickly. I scored 3 cartons of Tempt hemp milk, a container of their high protein powder, 2 vouchers for a pint of ice cream, a hemp tote bag, and a hemp t-shirt. I really appreciate Tempt’s products because when I first tried hemp milk, I thought it had an awful flavor. I figured I’d never touch the stuff again. But after trying Tempt’s vegan ice cream and falling in love, I gave their milks a shot also. I don’t know why or how, but they definitely have a much better flavor than the previous brand. I fear hemp milk no longer!

The shirt is so soft. Possibly the smoothest, softest shirt I’ve ever felt! I thought you might want to read the bag and shirt…

I should show that to my sweet little grandma. When I first showed her my Simple hemp shoes, she said, “You could smoke those.”

Now let’s see how many people are standing behind me in the grocery store, heads tilted, trying to read all that! For my Tempt ice cream voucher, I chose the coffee biscotti, a flavor I’ve never tried. With this yummy ice cream I came up with the most amazing creation- a homemade frappuccino! A Temptuccino?! To make this treat I combined 1/4 pint Tempt Coffee Biscotti ice cream, about 3/4 cup hemp milk, a handful of ice, and about a tablespoon of my homemade vanilla-coffee-flavored coffee syrup. For those who order “extra coffee” frapps, add another tablespoon of syrup. It’s even better than a frappuccino from the coffee shop, and you can make 3 or 4 of these for the price of one at a shop. And if you’re curious about the homemade syrup, just make a simple syrup with coffee, sugar and vanilla. Yum!

Wednesday, I made a magical dish from the upcoming Hearty Vegan. It’s something I’ve never heard of before, but now just needs to be a staple in my life. Irish Nachos! You probably guessed it simply by the name- nachos with potatoes, tater tots to be specific, rather than chips. The husband was asking when we were going to have them again within hours.

Yesterday’s meal, and it ended up being both lunch and dinner because we were so busy, was take-out-style udon loaded with veggies, another tester from Hearty Vegan. You can’t go wrong with stir-fried noodles and veggies.

Well, that’s all I have for show-and-tell right now, but happy Friday!
Have you tried hemp milks and ice creams? If so, did you like them? What about hemp shoes, clothes, or bags?

I like hemp milk for baking, but I find the flavor a little off/strong for simpler things. I haven’t tried hemp ice cream- that sounds interesting!
It’s soo good. I was skeptical, but it’s definitely one of my favorites!
Love it! Ihave yet to try hemp milk, but I have been chowing down on the seeds in different recipes. Love you pictures!
Thank you!
Love the seeds also!
Love love tempt products! Mint chip is my favorite ice cream flavor.
That’s the only one I haven’t tried! Must get on that!
I’ve never tried hemp products, but I am a new vegan and would love to know where I can get a copy of the Hearty Vegan book.
Thanks!
It’s not quite out yet, but I believe it’s out later this year.
Hi, it’s Jennifer from Living Harvest. Happy to hear that your package arrived and that you are enjoying the products! The Temptuccino sounds delicious.
Thank you, Jennifer!
I have not tried hemp products but keep looking at them when I am at the store. I’m afraid I won’t like it and wasted money on it. Your meals look good. Those nachos look like pure comfort food.
Yeah, I can understand not wanting to waste money!
They are pure comfort food!
I was just wondering, what all went onto the Irish nachos? They look so delicious that I want to try making them myself. Thanks.
It’s tater tots, tomatoes, green onions, jalapeños, vegan bacon bits, vegan sour cream, and a cheezy sauce.
